Sixth Grade
If the occurrence arises that a student forgets to complete as assignment by its due date, the Sixth Grade Team of teachers have the following late homework policy:
1. If the assignment is late:
- Students have the opportunity and responsibility to turn in the assignment by 8:05 a.m.the next school day.
- The student will receive no higher than a 60% on the late work.
2. If student does not turn in the assignment by 8:05 a.m. the next day:
- The student may sign up for Power Hour that day to complete the work.
- The student will receive no higher than a 60%.
3. If not turned in by the end of that day:
- The student will receive a zero for that particular assignment.
Seventh Grade
If an assignment is not turned in on time, the student will receive no higher than a 60% for that work. The student can turn in the assignment by the next meeting of that class to receive up to 60% credit. If the assignment is not turned in by the next class period, that student could be assigned to Power Hour and could receive up to 60% credit upon completion of the assignment.
Eighth Grade
Any assignment not submitted when due will be considered late and will be recorded as a temporary zero. The student will have until the next meeting of that class to submit the assignment for maximum 50% credit. If the assignment is not submitted by the start of the next meeting of the class, the zero in the grade book will become permanent. This policy applies to all daily work and long term unit research projects. Students who are habitually late with their class work may face being assigned to after school Power Hour to make up that work.
