Connie Hutfles came to Wetmore Academic Center in 2000 after teaching in the Halstead-Bentley USD #440 and Kaw Valley USD #321 school districts. She was born in Onaga, KS and raised on a farm east of Corning with 10 siblings. Mrs. Hutfles graduated from high school at Centralia High in 1993. She then attended Baker University on a volleyball and academic scholarship, graduating with honors in 1997. Connie earned her master's degree from Baker University, finishing in the fall of 2007. Mrs. Hutfles coaches middle school volleyball at Wetmore and is also the high school Student Council sponsor. She is a member of the Kansas Business Educators Association and the Kansas Academy for Leadership in Technology. Connie is married to Jesse Hutfles, who also teaches at Wetmore Academic Center, and together they have seven children, Elizabeth, 13, Colton, 12, Joel, 10, Alyssa, 8, Campbell, 7, Rebekah, 6, and Michaela, 5.
