Summerfield Elementary Celebrates 11-11-11
by Julia Fischer
Friday, November 11, 2011 was a very special day because it was the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the eleventh year of the millennium, which of course meant the date was 11-11-11. This is something that is very rare; it does not happen very often at all. So, to celebrate this special day, the students at Summerfield Elementary participated in a Scavenger Hunt, which had (of course) eleven clues.

All of the students in the school were divided up into groups and were given clues that had riddles on them. When the group solved the riddle, it told them were to go to find their next clue. The eleven clues led the groups on a wild hunt throughout the school and eventually led them back to the gym, where they got a prize for participating.
By doing this Scavenger Hunt, the students not only had a chance to mark this unique day, they also got to show how well they could work together in teams and solve riddles. They cooperated well and all the groups were successful in their hunt.
