Axtell Homecoming 2010

Axtell High School will be celebrating it homecoming on Friday, September 3. The theme this year is “Awake and Alive.” There will be a parade and pep rally held on Maple Street in Axtell at 2:15 p.m. on homecoming day. That evening the crowning ceremony for the homecoming Queen and King will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. prior to the football game with Blue Valley at the football field. The cheerleaders will be performing at halftime of the game. As pictured in the photos below, the candidates are: #21 Taylor Jesse paired with Kayla Ludwig; #25 Tyler Heiman paired with Michelle Peschel; #87 Scott Koch paired with Lindsey Smith.
The week of homecoming, Axtell students will be celebrating homecoming by dressing according to themes chosen by the cheerleaders. Monday is gender bender day, Tuesday is injury day, Wednesday is movie/rock star day, Thursday is hillbilly day, and Friday is school spirit day. There will also be a potluck meal, bond fire and pep rally Wednesday evening at 7:00 in the school parking lot.

Kayla Ludwig is the daughter of Dan and Denise Ludwig. Throughout high school Kayla has been or will be involved with volleyball (4 years), basketball (4 years), track (4 years), cheerleading (1 year) ACSC (1 year), FFA (2 years), STUCO (4 years) and choir (2 years). Kayla’s noteworthy achievements include student council president (1 year), student council secretary (1 year) and honor roll (4 years). Following high school Kayla plans to major in Nursing but is still undecided on where she wants to attend.

Michelle Peschel is the daughter of Roland and Brenda Peschel. Throughout high school Michelle has been or will be involved with volleyball (4 years), basketball (3 years), basketball manager (1 year), track (3 years), track manager (1 year), Cross Country (3 years), ACSC (2 years), band (1 year), yearbook (1 year), jr./sr. play (2 years), and National Honor Society (2 years). Michelle’s noteworthy achievements include, freshman class president, ACSC secretary/treasure (1 year,) ACSC vice president (1 year) TVL All-Academic Team (1 year), and honor roll (4 years). Following high school Michelle plans to major in Speech-Language Pathology and is still undecided about where she wants to attend.

Lindsey Smith is the daughter of Tom and Mary Smith. Throughout high school Lindsey has been or will be involved with volleyball (1 year), volleyball manager (1 year) track (1 year), FFA (3 years), cheerleading (2 years), ACSC (1 year) jr./sr. play (2 years), forensics (1 year), and scholars bowl (2 years). Lindsey’s noteworthy achievements include honor roll (4 years). Following high school Lindsey plans to attend Southeast Community College in Lincoln and study Accounting.

Tyler Heiman is the son of Bruce and Kim Heiman. Throughout high school Tyler has been or will be involved with football (4 years), basketball (4 years), track (4 years), scholars bowl (1 year), ACSC (1 year), FFA (2 years), forensics (1 year), choir (1 year), and jr./sr. play (2 years). Tyler’s noteworthy achievements include freshman and sophomore class vice-president, junior and senior class co-president, student council vice-president (1 year) and honor roll (4 years). Following high school Tyler plans to attend K-State and major in Animal Science.

Taylor Jesse is the son of Fred and Wendy Gee and Terry and Tracy Jesse. Throughout high school Taylor has been or will be involved with football (4 years), basketball (2 years), track (4 years), scholars bowl (1 year), jr./sr. play (2 years), ACSC (1 year), yearbook (2 years), band (2 years) and forensics (3 years). Taylor’s noteworthy achievements include class secretary (4 years) and honor roll (4 years). Following high school Taylor plans to attend Emporia University to complete the BSE-English program for teaching.

Scott Koch is the son of Dennis and Jane Koch. Throughout high school Scott has been or will be involved with football (4 years), basketball (4 years), scholars bowl (4 years), ACSC (3 years), FFA (2 years), jr./sr. play (1 year), and National Honor Society (3 years). Scott’s noteworthy achievements include student council secretary (1 year), and honor roll (4 years). Following high school Scott plans to attend college but is still undecided about a major or school destination.
